Cheryl’s Herbs

Product Page Redesign

The Start

Cheryl's Herbs, a venerable establishment in St. Louis specializing in natural remedies, has been a trusted haven for health-conscious individuals seeking holistic solutions. With a rich history as a brick-and-mortar store, Cheryl's Herbs adeptly transitioned to the digital landscape by opening an e-commerce platform during the challenging times of the pandemic. Renowned for their commitment to education, the in-store experience offered valuable insights into the benefits of their products. However, recognizing the limitations of their existing product pages in conveying this wealth of knowledge online, Cheryl's Herbs embarked on a transformative journey to enhance their digital presence, ensuring that their dedication to education seamlessly translated to the virtual realm.

The Challenges

The challenges with Cheryl's Herbs' previous product pages were evident, as users faced an overwhelming presentation characterized by a colossal block of text alongside product images. While this text contained valuable information on the benefits of the ingredients, its sheer size made it challenging for users to absorb and appreciate the essential details. Moreover, the placement of danger warnings before any positive information inadvertently drew attention to potential risks rather than the beneficial attributes of the products. This layout not only hindered the user experience but also obscured the crucial educational content that Cheryl's Herbs sought to impart, prompting the need for a comprehensive redesign to ensure a more user-friendly and informative product presentation.

Bringing The Ingredients To Focus

In addressing the shortcomings of the old product pages, I conducted a thorough analysis of how ingredient-focused companies, spanning skincare and vitamins, presented their products. Inspired by best practices, the goal became to individually showcase each ingredient in a visually impactful manner, accompanied by concise and easily digestible summaries highlighting their respective benefits. This approach aimed to streamline information delivery and create a more engaging and informative user experience.

Combating The Text Wall

To combat the overwhelming text block, I introduced a tabbed interface. This streamlined the product pages, condensing information into easily digestible sections and enhancing user navigation for a more appealing and accessible experience at Cheryl's Herbs.
